Modelling Evaluation of Eu Road Traffic Emission Strategies
نویسندگان
چکیده
The comprehensive Gas Aerosol Modelling Evaluation System (GAMES) was used to investigate the impact of EU Directives on road traffic emissions scheduled for 2010 on photochemical pollution. The area under study is located in Northern Italy, where orographic features and the emissive mix represent a critical issue in ozone production and accumulation processes. The long-term period AprilSeptember 1996 was selected as the reference case, and an impact assessment simulation for the year 2010 was performed, including the future emission fields based on the current legislation. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the EU road traffic abatement policy in Northern Italy, graphical indicators were computed and analysed. Copyright c ©2005 IFAC

Modelling of Transient Emissions and Concentrations from Traffic in Street Canyons
INTRODUCTION In the EU 5 framework project DECADE (2001-2003) a new methodology has been developed to calculate in detail the engine power required to drive a given vehicle over any particular route. It includes the rapidly changing (transient) demands placed on the engine, an area that has proved an obstacle to accurate simulations in the past. Together with the associated speed profiles, the ...
متن کاملModelling of traffic flow and air pollution emission with application to Hong Kong Island
In this study, we propose a Lagrangian model for the simulation of traffic flow on a complex road network. This simple approach is quite efficient if adequate road network data are available and statistical constraints are applied to confine the model behavior. We have established a traffic information database for Hong Kong Island and applied the model for traffic flow simulation. It is shown ...
متن کاملMulti-criteria evaluation of optimal signal strategies using traffic simulation and evolutionary algorithms
As a result of the continuous increase of motor vehicles in city areas, sustainability of road traffic in terms of energy and emission has become, in addition to mobility, one important aspect in the planning and management of transportation. This paper introduces a computational framework to model traffic impacts and optimize traffic control measures by integrating microscopic traffic simulato...
متن کاملSpatial modelling of railway noise propagation
In recent decades, population growth and progress of technology have shaped large and compact urban settlements. Existence of huge transportation systems and developed urban infrastructures are among the most important properties of modern cities. In spite of prompt transit and facilitated daily activities, development of transportation systems causes many problems, including traffic, air and n...
متن کاملMultivariate Statistical Analysis Decision-making Hybrid Method for Road Traffic Safety Evaluation in Iran
Obviously, improving the road safety and the efficient allocation of limited resources to the provinces according to their ranking should be done. This paper presents a hybrid method of multivariate statistical analysis-decision making to evaluate Iran road traffic safety. In order to solve the problems of road traffic safety, a macroscopic evaluation and traffic safety level classification in ...
